Last night after dinner James and I went downtown to the independent theater to see The Artist.
If you see any movie in theaters this year, see The Artist.
The Artist is an incredibly beautiful film and if you have a thing for the classics you will love it. Set in the early days of Hollywood it follows the career and demise of a silent picture star who falls for a young dancer destined to be the next starlet and take his place in the “talkies.” It is shot entirely in gorgeous black and white, and in the old silent film way has an excellent score, and very little sound otherwise. This film is truly a work of art. It is beautifully shot with fantastic sets, lighting, and costume. I found myself mesmerized and romanced by the actors incredible emotion and depth. Jean Dujardin is mind blowing in the lead.
I would watch it again in a heart beat!
